The living room in this Nuneaton home had become tired and neglected, with peeling wallpaper, damaged woodwork and years of wear and tear leaving the space feeling more like a room to live in rather than one to truly enjoy.
The transformation began with the careful removal of the existing wallpaper, which required patience and precision due to the condition of the walls underneath. Once stripped back, we repaired damaged areas, filled imperfections and thoroughly sanded both the walls and woodwork to create the perfect surface for decorating. We also carried out repairs to areas affected by historic water damage and general deterioration.
With the preparation complete, we moved onto the finishing stages. The ceilings were painted using a premium dead flat finish, helping to minimise light reflection and prevent visible roller marks or flashing. The woodwork was then transformed using a durable water-based paint system, creating a smooth, hard-wearing finish designed to withstand everyday use.
The final stage was the wallpaper installation, and the owners' choice of this bold statement design completely transformed the character of the room. Before applying the wallpaper, all walls were lined with high-quality thick lining paper to provide a smooth, stable surface and ensure the best possible finish.
