How long to decorate Hall, Stairs and Landing?
We decorate a lot of hall stairs and landings throughout the year. It's the one job a homeowners would prefer not to do themselves which is where they turn to the professionals. There are a few factors which change the time but here is a general guideline.
HSL without the Balustrade and less than 5 doors is usually 4 days to decorate.
HSL with a Balustrade and / or more than 5 doors is usually a week.
A large HSL with lots of doors and a large balustrade is up to 6 days.
Also as a guide. A black hand rail on a Balustrade is generally an extra half to full day.
How long to decorate a Living Room?
A small to medium size living room with one door and one window can is relatively straight forward for painting.
A small to medium room painting walls and ceilings only is approximately one day.
If you include skirting boards and a door it is two days.
Also an extra half day to a full day if removing wall paper.
How long to decorate a Bedroom?
A bedroom would be very similar to what we mentioned above for a living room.
A small to medium bedroom painting walls and ceilings only would be one day.

How long to decorate a Kitchen?
Each and every kitchen can be very different. The problems we face with a kitchen is the amount of cutting in around kitchen units and doors frames. Also hard to reach areas. Although there is less area to paint, the time to paint the area take significantly longer.
Small Kitchen walls / ceiling / skirting would be 1 to 1.5 days.
Medium Kitchen 2 days
Medium to large kitchen with a diner section 3 days.
Factors which influence the amount of time taken to decorate a room?
Painting doors.
Number of doors.
Length of skirting board.
Number of windows.
Type of paint used previously i.e. silk paint or dark colour.
High ceilings.
Hard to reach areas.
High traffic areas i.e. offices.
